"It is impossible to install a digital sat dish without special equipment" - Bollocks.
I like to acheive at least one impossible thing before breakfast so a little while back i decided to have breakfast really really late. Enuff Gibbering. Heres how to install a sky digibox yourself, with nothing more complex than a drill and a spirit level. Im gonna assume youve got the braincells mount a bracket on a wall so i'll skip the dreary bits.

Do a quick survey of all the dishes in your road, you are looking to make your dish the same height off the ground as them. Select a place to mount your dish, bearing in mind you need a good line of sight to the heavens ( think about the angle the signal comes in at, not through the end of the LNB as is a common misconception [see diagram] ) and that you need to be able to angle the dish to the same way as everyone elses is pointing
Mount your dish on the wall, and make sure the bracket is mounted true ( spirit level time ), its very important to get it perfectly upright, much more so the with the old analogue dishes, leave every thing just tight enuff so you can move the dish through its two axis but its not gonna get blown about
Wire up your dish to the DigiBox so that you can see the screen from where your adjusting the dish ( this can be particularily fun if you are 20 foot off the ground, in which case employ a gnome to watch telly for you )
Bung on the box and using the handset hit the following Keys: SERVICE, 4, 0, 1, SELECT
New hidden menu! Dun Dun Duhhhhh!!! er quite, right, select new installation and bash select till you get the screen up that reads "Signal Strength" unless your amazingly lucky this will be blank at the moment. Wiggle the dish right and left and you'll see the grey bar rise and fall, get it roughly to where the signal is strongest. Next wiggle the dish up and down untill the signal is at its stongest again, if your very lucky it will lock on to the satellite and display the "Signal Quality" bar... Tweak gently and lock it off, your done!
If not, heres the trick, move the dish all the way left or right and the slowly all the way the other way, you'll note there are many peaks in the signal strength and eventually you should hit one that locks on as above (this will be the strongest one, the smaller peaks are "side banding", as is badly shown in the diagram below look it up! ), if not then do it slower! Next, using the "Signal Quality" as a guide tweak the dish about ( only by millimeters ) to give you the best quality you can, something worth noting is "Channel 5" is a bit iffy and so is "Extreme Sports" if you can get the both clear then you can bet all the other channels will be fine
Youre Done! hit select again and the EPG will tune in all your channels
